Karen joined Levin Riback Law Group in May of 2008 after more than fifteen years in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Now focusing her practice on complex personal injury litigation, construction litigation and automobile negligence, Karen brings extensive trial practice experience to the firm. She has successfully tried more than 75 jury trials, hundreds of bench trials and negotiated thousands of guilty pleas without going to trial. Karen spent her last five years as an assistant state’s attorney supervising the Child Advocacy Division, a unit dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of sexual crimes against children. Karen excels at working closely with her clients and advocates strongly for those who have experienced the trauma and pain of personal injury.
Throughout her career, Karen has dedicated herself to teaching what she practices. An adjunct instructor since 1994, Karen’s commitment to students reaches far beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching both law and undergraduate students, Karen has been a guest speaker at many high schools, conducted training sessions for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and schoolteachers throughout the state of Illinois.
