Young child attacked by dog at rental property
Robert Adelman obtained a verdict on behalf of a young child who suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a vicious dog. The evidence revealed that the landlord of the building where the dog was kept knew of its vicious propensities, but failed to make sure that the dog was restrained.

Result:
$250,000 bench trial verdict

Bites and attacks by animals, such as dogs, are common causes of personal injury, permanent disability and wrongful death. Unfortunately, children are more prone to being attacked by these animals because they are often not aware of their vicious propensities.

In Illinois, owners or other parties responsible for such animals may be held liable for these accidents if it is shown that they either knew or had reason to know that their animal was predisposed to bite or attack. Also, owners or other parties responsible for animals that are deemed to be "vicious" may be held liable for these accidents if they fail to keep the animal chained or in an enclosure at all times.

At Levin Riback Law Group, we have a thorough understanding of this area of the law. We diligently investigate these unfortunate accidents and work with our clients to make sure that they understand their rights and receive proper and just compensation for their losses and injuries.
