I am pleased to announce another championship for our Bartlit Center Trial Teams, this one at the Buffalo-Niagara Invitational, held Nov. 9-12. With 32 teams competing over eight rounds, Buffalo-Niagara is the largest and longest invitational in the country.
The students on our team were Cynthia Bi (2L), Kristen Stoicescu (2L), Kelyn Smith (3L), Michael Trucco (2L), and Sadaf Misbah (2L). The went 3-1 in the four preliminary rounds, and then 4-0 in the playoffs. They defeated teams from Syracuse, Houston, South Dakota, Nova Southeast, Western State, and South Carolina, before beating St. John’s in the finals.
Our team was coached by Richard Levin, of Levin, Riback & Adelman. This was the third time that we have won the Buffalo-Niagara competition. Our teams will compete next semester in the American Association for Justice Student Trial Competition, and the National Trial Competition.
